Vineyard

Rosell family currently maintains an active vineyard called "Vinya Nova" with black variety called merlot. The actual estate is the result of the merger of three small pieces of vine varieties which housed the typical white Penedès varieties. The need to adapt to new ways of working, advanced age of the plants and a flatwork of gain ground were the reasons for we decided, in the '90s, to leave the land for rest few years and planted a variety that was in the late 90s boom: Merlot.
The property is on the road to San Sadurní to Vilafranca, and has 2 hectares of planted land. The ground keeps alternating clayey and sandy areas, giving a curious variation in the terroir of the grape, which surprises us every year with a high level, above the average of its neighbors.
